Attention Is Not the Same as Appreciation
Watching gives a performer attention. Appreciation is what happens when a viewer recognizes the time, personality and work that made the room worth watching.
What changes in the room
Compliments can be welcome, but they are not a substitute for support. A tip is a clear, honest signal that the performer created something valuable for you. It does not purchase ownership, emotional access or control over their boundaries.
Keep the person in view
Authenticity goes both ways. Be honest about what you enjoy, generous when value is created, and willing to accept no without turning respect into a negotiation.
Enjoy the fantasy. Remember the person.
